Antichrist?

Is any one here aware of the possible existence of the Antichrist? I had become very interested in cultures of the world and I had learned that a certain individual claims to be the soul of someone that existed over 3000 years ago. This person had spoke about the future (2012) and claims to know the return of a superior being and its manifestation in our planet. These men speak of knowledge based on old civilizations and traditions that would enrich mankind and bring all races, politics and one religion together to what he calls UR or Universal Religion. Certainly this is something to considered and be careful not to follow him if he indeed has already had meetings with the Vatican Officials to change our calendar and the guide to the so call UR.

I am a student of end time events and have not heard of any such combination to date regarding a 3,000 year old soul, reflecting on 2012 and meeting with the Vatican about changing the calendar. I am certain the Vatican currently has no leverage on altering the established Julian-Gregorian calendar in this time as they did when decreed by Pope Gregory XIII, for whom it was named, on 24 February 1582 via the papal bull Inter gravissimas. The League of Nations attempted to adjust the calendar in the 1930s, but failed. From David Duncan's book "Humanity’s Epic Struggle to Determine a True and Accurate Year," he summarizes, “We take in stride a calendar (the Gregorian) that is flawed but endures, largely because it works just fine for most of us, and it is what we are used to.”

We already know that the first anti-Christ spoke of in Saint John's Revelations was Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus from 37 A.D. Since prophesy is two-fold, he is the first revelation and Satan's first very aggressive attempt to destroy the faith. When Nero Caesar's name is transliterated into Hebrew, which a first-century Jew would have done, he would have gotten "Neron Kesar" or simply "nrwn qsr." Since Hebrew text also has numerical value in its letters, the value of the equation is "666" and the first-century readers would have been able to calculate the number with relative ease and understood the results.

Antiochus Epiphanies was insignificant as compared with historical personages whom the Bible does not mention, but he scourged the covenant people and defiled God's altar, thus coming into prophetic light. From verse 36 the "little horn" of Dan.7:8, 24-26 fills the scene. His propensity lasts until "the indignation" (the time of trouble of Dan.12:1 and Mt.24:21) is accomplished (Vs.36). The "little horn" here is a historical event fulfilled in Antiochus Epiphanies, B.C.175, who profaned the temple and terribly persecuted the Jews. However, the final manifestation of the "little horn" or the final anti-Christ is yet to take place.

Various aspects of eschatology have seen its fulfillment. Many men through history have been convincingly named as the anti-Christ. Josef Stalin, Vladimir Lenin, Napoleon Bonaparte, Adolph Hitler, Saddam Hussein and now Barack Hussein Obama is the latest contender. Why? His father was Muslim! Ishmael [the son of the slave Hagar and sired of Abraham] was conceived by promptings of Sarah not believing God's promise for descendants, therefore Ishmael became a curse. "A wild man with many enemies and always under oppression" he was the father of Islam. (Genesis 16:12). From Ishmael came Mohammed who killed all those who opposed him. From Isaac who received the blessing and promise came Jesus of Nazareth from that lineage. Christians and Moslems do not simply have two different fathers (Isaac and Ishmael) and two different books (Bible-Koran), but they have two completely different spirits: one brings freedom, the other brings bondage; one leads to life, the other leads to death. From the lineage of Isaac came the redeemer, therefore from the lineage of Ishmael one might expect the anti-Christ? With this is mind, A Muslim is permitted to lie to an infidel; especially when doing so will "further the cause of Islam. This "License to Lie" doctrine is called "al-Taqiyya." Obama's mother and birth father was committed communist associated with an anti-Semitic, black supremacist church. He spent time in Indonesia at a school that gave him Muslim religious instruction. His stepfather took him to mosques. Many believe his association with the United Church of Christ in Chicago was a front to gain political power (whose retired Jeremiah Wright who also bordered black supremacist) and then... I could go on, but the point is, one can build a case against most leaders as being the anti-Christ, given enough time and data. See CNN footage HERE!

I recall between 1977 and 1982, Lord Maitreya was being introduced to the world by his spokesperson Benjamin Creme as the returning Christ. They had full page ads in the New York Times which I still have a copy and appeared on talk shows. Maitreya was claimed to be the returning Messiah whom other's called the anti-Christ.

Some people have said the anti-Christ was born in 1960. Jeanne Dixon was the main proponent of this belief; however as a Christian I don't give ear to self-deluded psychics. I do find Nostradamus' 77th Quatrain interesting as it mentions the "The Third Antichrist" and speaks of the numberless casualties related to this leader. Deepak Chopra has released his book called "The Third Jesus - the Christ We Cannot Ignore" which is more of his New Age propaganda which certainly puts him on the same team as the anti-Christ.

One fact remains, as there was and will be many false Christ's, there will also be many false anti-Christ's. Scriptures show us that the end will come like a flood (Daniel 9:27), meaning all things will seem well and suddenly everything will start falling apart at a very fast rate. People will faint from emotional distress (Luke 21:26) while others will beg for death (Revelations 6:16) whereas the scriptures will be proven true and the Holy one will be feared. As taught about the 10 virgins in Christ's parable, the end time is delaying until a very late hour, and even now the Spirit of Christ is having those in the Kingdom of God trim their lamps for his soon arrival. No one know the day or the hour, therefore we should always be ready.

I totally agree with you regarding the subjects you mention here, purpose of providing some insight into the future. The individual once again, speaks of the future UR and the unity of all human kind, all based on what he calls the path beyond technology and faith. You do not need to believe, however it is a relief to know that we as Christians know and are conscious of the existence and current presence of the evil one.

Will we as christians be spared the agony of the antichrist? I have read in some books about the rapture, but I have a hard time reading Revelation to know what the truth really is.

Raptured Away

That is the BIG complicated question that so many have studied, only to end up with no certain answer. The word “rapture” comes from the Latin word rapturo, which is a translation of the Greek verb "caught up" that’s found in 1 Thessalonians 4:17. It is not a word found in the translated Bible, but rather a derivative that developed into its own theology.

One school of thought is "yes", we shall be spared the time of great sorrow. The pre-Tribulation Rapture Dispensationalist will say we shall be whisked away in the manner of Christ's teaching from Matthew 24:40-41 "Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left."

The comprehension of any difficult scripture must start with understanding the context in which it is written. Beginning in verse 40 of Matthew 24, Christ talks about the condition of society in the end time. People will be working “in the field” and “at the mill” (vs. 40-41), carrying on with their daily cares. They will also be “eating and drinking” and “marrying and giving in marriage” (vs. 38). In other words, life will seem normal just prior to the Tribulation. Verse 42 confirms that it will fall upon people unexpectedly. Death from famine, pestilence and military invasion will collectively claim two-thirds of the population of the modern nations of Israel (Ezek. 5:12). Captivity will claim the remaining third.

Matthew 24:31 provides the central event of this explanation: “And He shall send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” Some who are alive at that time will instantly be changed to spirit beings (I Cor. 15:52) and will rise to meet Christ in the air (I Thes. 4:17).

According to pre-Tribulationist, a secret rapture is coming. Only those who are “saved,” “born again,” and have “accepted Jesus in their hearts” will be secretly whisked away without warning—regardless of where they are or what they are doing—to the safety of heaven. This supposed event, signaled by the sudden vanishing of millions, will “shock the world.”

All “unbelievers”—including the billions who have never even heard the name of Christ, much less understood why He came to earth—will remain to suffer through “seven years” of Great Tribulation. The antichrist will rule over those who are left behind, who missed out on their chance to be “transcended” into heaven, at Christ’s “unannounced” second coming. During this time, war, disease, famine and religious deception will proliferate throughout the world. The rapture theory also states that the anti-Christ will allow the Jews to build a temple in Jerusalem, which, three and a half years into this tribulation, he will turn on and destroy.

Notice Matthew 24:30-31: “And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He shall send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”

This cannot describe Christ’s “unannounced” rapture coming—because that event is essentially contrived from Catholic futurism theology! This seventh and last trumpet blast announces Christ’s Return, and it is then when He gathers His people. At this point, Christ’s true followers will be changed into perfect, immortal, incorruptible beings. This last trumpet also announces the First Resurrection, when the “dead in Christ” will also be raised to spirit-begotten immortal life. As we can see, the rapture theory has some truth mixed with error. The difference between this teaching and what God’s Word really says about Christ’s Return is dramatic.

In the 1600s, Ribera wrote a personal commentary on the book of Revelation. To remove the Catholic church’s “burden” of being labeled antichrist, Ribera spawned the belief of futurism, meaning that the prophecies of Revelation only applied to the last seven years of mankind’s history. Thus, the Catholic Church simply could not be the antichrist because this role was yet to be fulfilled—in the time immediately preceding Christ’s Return! This planted the seed of the rapture theory.

The Bible reveals that there will be a final fulfillment of the “abomination of desolation” in the near future, when a religious-political force stops the daily sacrifices in Israel. This destruction will be one of the two aspects of the sign for God’s true people to flee, again, as you will learn in greater detail in Part Two, to a physical place of protection. Soon after this, the Great Tribulation will strike the world, to the surprise of all earth’s inhabitants.

This worst time of trouble in history will last for three and a half years, until the last trumpet announces Christ’s Return. Acts 1:9-11 states that, just as Christ had departed to heaven after His crucifixion and resurrection, He will return on a cloud. Revelation 1:7 adds, “Behold, He comes with clouds; and every eye shall see Him, and they also which pierced Him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of Him.”

I prefer to think I will be taken out before things get hard, but that is the selfish facet of my human condition, wishfully desiring to go out easy. Why should God choose to grant end-time Christian's a favorism after so many early Christians were burned on Nero's stakes as garden torches? Holy and devout Christian's pass after horrible bouts with cancer while a wicked man might live to 90 without complications. Life is never about what side you are on, your health/wealth status or passage is unrelated. Preparation for the afterlife is not collectively aligned with past, present or future condition or position.

The scripture speaks of a end-time renewal before the great falling away, during a difficult time of troubles. When the tribulation kicks into high gear, it will be a dramatic shock to all humans, no one will be actually ready. There will be many who will abandon the faith because they were only socialites, attendees of Sunday morning clubs with "God is love and doesn't send people to Hell" theology. As Christ honestly questioned "When the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?" (Luke 18:8) He knows that many will flee in the face of these end time trials, like the disciples did at the crucifixion. Peter swore he would never, under any circumstances, deny Christ. But he did, three times, even calling upon himself a curse and swearing by an oath that he knew him not. (Mark 14:71) No one should be so proud as to think they could do better. After all, Peter walked with the Christ!

As above stated, We will know that time, it will come like a flood, suddenly everything will start falling apart everywhere like a thread unraveling from a garment. The world will be a terrible place to live, but the anti-Christ will bring about peace and order for a short time, fooling the world into thinking he is GOD. Then things will get even worse.

None of you really see the fact of the existence or at least know that “we as CHRISTIANS” are facing a serious risk of falling on the wings of the evil one, it is pity that you all feel that everything will be just fine. I know this man exist because I know who he is and his philosophy of the future. You will no longer see these responses; at list if you really impress me. But see the next 4 years…you see with your own eyes the existence of what is unknown to human kind, watch for the 4 horses of he Apocalypses take main stage for you.

Failure to Interpret this Thread Correctly

None of these posts indicate that no one believes a shaking is at hand? Actually, if you read carefully, the content expounds heavily that the anti-Christ is most likely an adult who is ready to step out from behind the curtain. Certainly nothing in the above copy implies everything will be just fine either. Anyone who can read English will easily comprehend that the content points to a time of hardship so great that many Christians will fall away!

As far as anyone claiming to know the anti-Christ, many have said they know him all the way back to Nero. He was in fact the original archetype in which no learned scholar disputes. However, no one can say they know for sure someone is the anti-Christ. If anyone does, one can immediately discount their testimony as one puffed up with self-promoted knowledge.
