The Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:2-17 NKJV)

    1. I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me.

    2. You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth…

    3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.

    4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

    5. Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

    6. You shall not murder.

    7. You shall not commit adultery.

    8. You shall not steal.

    9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

    10. You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.

Many people in this world believe they are “good people”, and because of this they will make it into heaven. This is a very dangerous position to hold onto in life. For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. (James 2:10). Everyone of this world at one time or another has violated the law of God. They might have told a lie, took the Lord’s name in vain, stole something, or looked at someone in an impure way. Are you guilty of breaking any of God’s commandments? The Bible teaches that because of this people are on a collision course with an eternal separation from God, otherwise known as hell.

There is only one true way to be saved from this horrendous end.

Who is this God? He is the Creator of all, including human beings. At the creation of Earth, the first two human beings, Adam and Eve, sinned against God. This created separation between God and man, and therefore a curse causing the course of human life to be a most difficult one. God had a plan to put an end to this horrible course leading to an eternal damnation. Thousands of years prior to the birth and death of Jesus, God shared His plan for the world with several prophets and they wrote it down to eventually become part of the Old Testament of the Bible.

"Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel. (Isaiah 7:14) But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed." (Isaiah 53:5)Jesus is the Son of God. He is the incarnate of God taking human form. He is God. He was sent into this world to save us all from our sins. This was God’s plan all along. In the older times, people would sacrifice different kinds of animals as an atonement or an amends for their sin. Jesus is the true sacrifice for our sins. God sent His one and only Son to put the sin of the world on His own shoulders. He was unjustly crucified on a Roman cross, died, and was put into the grave. Three days later, He came back from the dead. Shortly later He ascended into Heaven. Because of this event, we can have eternal life.

“The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!”
    (Mark 1:15)

"For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son."
    (John 3:17-18)

"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."
    (Romans 5:1)

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…"
    (Matthew 28:19)

So we must repent. The word repent, or metanoeo in Greek, means to think differently or afterwards, i.e. reconsider (morally, feel compunction)-Strong’s Greek Lexicon. We are then to believe the Good News. The Good News being that Jesus died for all of us. Because of this belief we will now have eternal life with God in Heaven. We then are to be Baptised. This is a public ceremony in which new believers are submerged under water for a brief period of time. It is symbolic of the new believer being crucified with Christ (submersion), and then being reborn into Christ (coming out of the water).

With hearing the Gospel, do you now feel God working through you, encouraging you to accept this important decision as truth? Are you now opening your life to Jesus Christ through faith? Believing this in your inner core, the very essence of who you are? Do you want God?

If you have truly repented and believe in Jesus Christ you will continue to grow in Christ. He will continue to work in your heart, so that you will respond to the message and become active in your faith.

"One of those listening was a woman named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth from the city of Thyatira, who was a worshipper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul’s message." (Acts 16:14)

Your life will be much different because you believe in Christ Jesus. This is a slow life long process. When you believe in Jesus, God gives you the Holy Spirit. Because of this, you will see markers in your life as evidence of your faith. If you do not, you will need to reexamine your faith.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit." (Galatians 5:22-25)

Your post reminds me of the percussion of Flint striking Pyrite.

The Flint, being the cutting word of truth and the Pyrite, the results of the soul exposed. You are striking the Flint vigorously and sparks are flying with this post Pyrite consist of iron and sulfur. These minerals produce quite hot and relatively long-lived sparks when struck by a flint. Fomes fomentarius (had to look that up) is a fungus growing on old or diseased trees that was commonly used to accelerate the sparks to flames. Therefore, as the fungus smolders and burst into flames, may the Good News about the finished work of Jesus Christ burst forth and provide the light needed for your readers to find their way.

Strange analogy I know… It just came to me for some reason.
